After being traded to the Utah Jazz, veteran center Kendrick Perkins tweeted his goodbyes to the Thunder organization and its fans.
Veteran center Kendrick Perkins was involved in a three-team trade Thursday afternoon right before the 3 p.m. deadline that shipped him to the Utah Jazz. Also involved in the trade was Reggie Jackson, who was shipped from OKC to Detroit in exchange for D.J. Augustin and Kyle Singler. From Utah, the Thunder received Enes Kanter and Steve Novak in exchange for Perkins.
Perkins has been with the Thunder since the 2010-11 season after another deadline trade from the Celtics. Perkins has been known as a great locker room presence, and while his on-court play wasnāt very good, he will surely be missed in Oklahoma City.
After his five seasons with the Thunder, Perk had some goodbyes to say via TwitterĀ before his departure.
As for the basketball part of the deal, Perkins is expected to be bought out by the Jazz and could end up with a contender in need of center depth once that process is complete.
