NBA Rumors: Heat want Danny Granger traded with Norris Cole
By Josh Hill
The Miami Heat are rumored to be moving Norris Cole at the trade deadline, but their insistence that Danny Granger move too could kill any and all deals.
It’s hard to follow rumors at the NBA trade deadline, and that’s a quest made even more difficult by the fact that the front offices across the league are never upfront about what is going on. What also complicates matters is trade filler that gets tossed in against a team’s will and tears down a possible trade.

That could be what we’re dealing with when it comes to the Miami Heat moving Norris Cole. Both the Pistons and Suns seem to be in on Cole — as well as the Thunder — but Danny Granger could be a player that tears it all down though no fault of his own.
According to Marc Stein from ESPN.com, the Miami Heat are pretty much done with Danny Granger — if they can find a suitor — and are trying to lump him into any deal involving Norris Cole.
This could complicate matters with the Goran Dragic drama, as the Suns are already hesitant to take just any old deal that comes along and are even digging in and saying they won’t trade Dragic. That’s honestly what is in their best interest as a team, but it’s something that could skew chemistry and come back to bite everyone.
Danny Granger isn’t valuable enough to be traded on his own, which is why the Heat are trying to move him as filler. Norris Cole isn’t guaranteed to be moved, but if Pat Riley stick to his guns and absolutely demands that Granger be a part of a Norris Cole trade, that could be something that tears this whole thing down and prevents a trade for happening.
