The Oklahoma City Thunder appear to be looking at Enes Kanter as a last minute replacement for Brook Lopez if that trade isn’t finalized in time.Ā

More from Brooklyn Nets

While the Brooklyn Nets and Oklahoma City Thunder appeared to be ready to make a deal that swapped Reggie Jackson and other pieces for Brook Lopez, it’s time to pump the brakes on such a deal.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, the Oklahoma City Thunder are looking at an 11th hour option of trading for Enes Kanter instead of Brook Lopez.

Jazz beat writer Jody Genessy also passed along a report that the Thunder are talking with Utah in an attempt to land Kanter before the deadline passes.

There were reports of the Lopez-to-OKC deal being done early this morning but those have seemingly fallen apart or at the very least hit a significant sang. Kanter has been on the Thunder’s radar for the past few days but the news that they seemed so close to making a deal with Brooklyn silenced talk out of Utah.

A deal with the Nets that ships off Reggie Jackson could still get done. There are so many moving parts with the Nets offer though, as Jarrett Jack going to Detroit is an option, Kevin Garnett being traded back to the Minnesota Timberwolves is an option and the Philadelphia 76ers could get involved as well.

It’s all coming foe to the wire and it appears that even if the Thunder can’t dump Jackson and land Lopez, they’re determined to get the big man they covet and need one way or another — whether that’s from Brooklyn or Utah.
