After hearing his name kicked around trade rumors all week, the Miami Heat have shipped Norris Cole off to the New Orleans Pelicans.

More from Miami Heat

The NBA trade deadline last year was boring and about as anticlimactic as it could get. But this year has been a frenzy that has pulled just about every team into the mix and sent players from one team through two others until they ended up in the place they were supposed to be.

One of those players was now former Miami Heat guard Norris Cole.

Initial reports of the Goran Dragic trade had the Heat giving up Norris Cole and a gaggle of other spare parts to the Phoenix Suns. But the Suns were quick to turn those assets around and make trades that moved players to new teams.

According to Brian Windhorst from ESPN though, Cole will bypass Phoenix and end up in New Orleans as part of the massive trade.

The Suns have gone now from having a gaggle of point guards to having none of the guys they had on roster outside of Eric Bledsoe. Norris Cole was figuring to be a part of a three-way trade anyways but one that saw him end up in Detroit and not New Orleans.

That al ended when the Pistons acquired Reggie Jackson and this whole trade frenzy went to the completely next level.

But now that the dust is settling, the NBA has changed in a way it hasn’t in recent years as this frenzy was more than enough to make up for the dud last year ended up being.
