Phoenix Suns trade Goran Dragic to Miami Heat

Goran Dragic wanted out of Phoenix and got his wish.
Goran Dragic didn’t want to be a “stand in the corner” point guard for the Phoenix Suns. He will get his chance to have the ball in his hand a lot more now that he has been traded by the Suns to the Miami Heat.
Dragic’s life changed with the Suns signed free agent point guard Isaiah Thomas in the off-season to a 4-year deal and then Erik Bledsoe ended up back with team on a 5-year pact. That left Jeff Hornacek with 3-point guards and a very unhappy Dragic, who wanted out, and got his wish. Dragic was also coveted by the Houston Rockets where he played before.
Sacramento was also reportedly interested in Dragic, who is a free agent at the end of the year. Dragic is reportedly interested in signing a long term deal with either his now current team Miami, or possibly the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers.
The active Suns are building for the future with this trade acquiring draft picks and Danny Granger.
Dragic gets to team with Dwyane Wade who will gladly let Dragic take some of the load off his aging, often hurt legs. The Heat will need more help than Dragic though, if they plan to really compete in the increasingly more competitive Eastern Conference.
