Someone will score at least 60 points in a game.
It happened twice last year. Carmelo Anthony scored 62 against the Charlotte Bobcats on January 25, and LeBron James scored 61 on March 4 against … the Charlotte Bobcats. However, before last year it had been five years since a player cracked the big six-o.
Klay Thompson scored 37 in a quarter, and he only finished with 52. Recent history says that simply tracking the Hornets’ schedule will produce our next 60-point scorer.
But the money is on Thompson’s running mate Stephen Curry to hit the 60 mark. His career high is 54 against the Knicks in 2013, and if he can get into a shooting groove early he may be impossible to start.
Kevin Durant has both the shooting skill and the killer instinct to put up his first ever 60-point game. Russell Westbrook has the insanity to gun for 60 if he feels he can reach it. James Harden might be able to shoot his way to 60 from the line. Jamal Crawford probably has something up his sleeve.
Look forward to a scoring explosion in the near future.
