Both teams are towards the top of the conference standings and were looking to improve their seeding come conference tournament time.
It was a game that had many big plays, and the play most will be talking about came courtesy of Indiana forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea.
At the start of the first half, Mosquera-Perea watching guard Yogi Ferrell dribble the ball, left his feet in the paint and slammed home a perfectly timed lob from the Hoosiers guard using only his right hand.
It appears the Purdue defense was focused on Ferrell instead of Mosquera-Perea too.
Mosquera-Perea, hailing from his native Colombia, showed a little leaping ability as he had no trouble getting air with his big 6’9 and 225 pound frame. The dunk brought the crowd and students in Bloomington, Indiana to their feet.
While Purdue won a close one, 67-63, the two teams looked like teams who will be tough outs come conference tournament time. The two clubs could poise threats to conference favorites Wisconsin and Maryland, two of the best teams in the country.
