Todd Gurley is still recovering from ACL surgery last fall and won’t let doctors examine his surgically repaired knee at the NFL combine.
Georgia running back Todd Gurley looked like a future first round pick in his junior season before a torn ACL against Auburn saw his draft stock take a considerable hit.

Gurley was playing in his first game after serving a four-game suspension for receiving improper benefits stemming from the sale of his autograph. Prior to the suspension there was little debate about who the best running back in college football was with the 230-pound Gurley on the short list for the Heisman with 773 yards and eight touchdowns in the Bulldog’s first eight games.
The Heisman was lost with the suspension and his chances of being a first round pick could be as well after tearing his ACL in the Nov. 15 win against Auburn. His recovery from ACL surgery will determine how high he is drafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, but teams won’t be able to get a complete medical report from him since he won’t let doctors examine the surgically repaired knee.
I am told that it is highly unusual, if not unprecedented, for a player not to allow doctors to examine him at combine, as Gurley did...

While some question the validity of some of the events at the combines, the medical evaluations and interviews are traditionally the most important, but this unprecedented decision from Gurley doesn’t seem to hurt him, at least now, and teams are okay with the decision.
With all of that said, coaches and personnel people are overwhelmingly high on Gurley as a person and a player...

Being told about Gurley. It is common not to pull or twist on a knee that was repaired 3 months ago. Teams understand this and are okay.

Gurley will return to Indianapolis for a medical recheck before the draft and there is Georgia’s pro day this spring to allow interested teams to get a better idea where he stands in his recovery.
When healthy, Gurley may be the undisputed top running back in the draft that is as deep at the running back position as it has been in years with Melvin Gordon, Tevin Coleman, Duke Johnson and Ameer Abdullah joining Gurley as players who could hear their name called in the top 50 picks.
