Mizzou’s Shane Ray won’t workout at NFL Combine
Former Mizzou Tigers defensive end Shane Ray won’t work out at NFL Scouting Combine due to an injury.
Shane Ray notified reporters Saturday that he won’t run the 40-yard dash or any other workouts when the defensive end’s are scheduled to start at the NFL Scouting Combine.

“Unfortunately (Sunday) I won’t be able to perform because of an injury I had in my bowl game with my foot,” Ray said. “So everything that is listed for tomorrow as far as the 40, and all the athletic drills, I’ll be doing on my pro day.”
Shane Ray, a potential top-10 draft pick who earned SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors with 14 sacks last season, measured just under 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds.
Because of his lightweight and quick off-the-snap abilities, Ray will most likely be drafted into being more of an outside rushing linebacker rather than an on-the-line defensive end.
Shane Ray played three years at Mizzou after his redshirt freshman season where he spent the first two as a reserve. He impressed everyone as one of the best tacklers in college football and one of the quickest to the quarterback. He’s been listed as a top-10 pick in most mock drafts and also a top-five at times in many mocks as well.
A date for Missouri’s pro date hasn’t been announced yet.
