I thought it would be appropriate to play NBA G.M. for a day. Maybe this is a bit like some 10-year-old kid on NBA 2K15, but I wanted to take a look at some guys who were rumored to be on the block and put them on teams that I think would have helped their fantasy values and possibly revived their careers. These are 5 deals that possibly could have happened by this years NBA Trade Deadline and changed the landscape of the NBA and fantasy basketball.
Now I know this one is crazy, but after we saw Kevin Garnett go home in the twilight of his career, I thought why not send Williams back home. Trey Burke continues to struggle with consistency and frustrate most of his fantasy owners, and it seems that Dante Exum is not quite ready to run with the point just yet. So why not send D-Will back home? Williams could probably have some pretty decent success in around 30 minutes a game.

Dec 14, 2013; Chicago, IL, USA; Toronto Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan (10) Chicago Bulls power forward Taj Gibson (22) and power forward Tyler Hansbrough (R) during the second half at the United Center. The Toronto Raptors defeated the Chicago Bulls 99-77. Mandatory Credit: David Banks-USA TODAY Sports
I am not sure if I like this more in real life or in fantasy. This actually seems like a fairly legit trade that could potentially boost up both teams. The Bulls have some crazy depth at PF and the Raptors could possibly afford to let DeRozan go and move Terrance Ross into the stating lineup. Again, you may not agree with me, but the Raptors biggest weakness is definitely down low and Gibson would bring a nice presence for them.
DeRozan would slot in nicely between Rose and Jimmy Butler. The Bulls might prefer a more efficient three-point shooter, but I think DeRozan is the kind of player that Coach Tom Thibodeau would love.
DeRozan might take a slight dip in fantasy production, but Gibson would be an absolute monster in Toronto. As much as Bulls fans might hate to lose Gibson, this could be the kind of move to put the team over the top.

Feb 5, 2015; Cleveland, OH, USA; Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love (0) celebrates his three-point basket in the first quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers at Quicken Loans Arena. Mandatory Credit: David Richard-USA TODAY Sports
Ever since Kevin Love arrived in Cleveland, his stats have taken a pretty serious dip. I am sure he is pretty happy now that he has a good chance to compete for a title with King James, but I am not completely sure he would not prefer to be ‘the man’. I would think that it goes without saying that Love would be the man in L.A. for the rest of this season, and I think that Kobe would be happy to pass the baton on to Love next season assuming that he is able to come back from his shoulder injury. This move would probably put Kevin Love back to producing the 30-20 games we were accustomed to in Minnesota.

Feb 4, 2015; Boston, MA, USA; Denver Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried (35) reacts after a basket during the fourth quarter against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. The Boston Celtics won 104-100. Mandatory Credit: Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports
I thought since maybe my Gibson for DeRozan trade might have been a bit far-fetched I would offer up a different one. I will actually piggy-tail this trade on with the next one you are going to read about. Vasquez is a starting caliber PG and has proven it in different occasions, but if the Nuggets were going to trade Faried, they would have likely found a deal like the next one I will post and that would leave Vasquez to be the starting PG. Both guys would stand to benefit in a huge way from this trade, and this would likely put Toronto in as a very serious contender to win the Eastern Conference.
Faried would stand to benefit greatly from this move as he sometimes loses minutes to J.J. Hickson and some of the others in Denver.

Feb 6, 2015; Auburn Hills, MI, USA; Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson (3) dribbles the ball during the second quarter against the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Mandatory Credit: Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports
So in my little imaginary world here Denver just blew things up and now they have 2 decent PGs to choose from in Collison or Vasquez, But hey, if you are going to blow it up, you want to make sure you secure a few lottery balls in the process, right?
I think that Ty Lawson would be a very nice play in Sacramento, and why not pair him up with DeMarcus Cousins, who has as many if not more off-the-court problems as Lawson does.
I hope you enjoyed my little fantasy world of trades here and now I ask you to sound off in the comments below and let us know what trades would you have loved to seen this year at the deadline.
