Philadelphia 76ers waive Andrei Kirilenko
The 76ers released the veteran forward after he never reported to the team after being traded there
The Philadelphia 76ers have released Andre Kirilenko. Kirilenko was traded to Philadelphia from the Brooklyn Nets along with other assets back in November for Brandon Davies.

Kirilenko never reported to Philadelphia however, and wanted no part of the 76ers long rebuilding program. In January, the 76ers suspended Kirilenko without pay.
Now, after the trade deadline has passed and Philadelphia having found no suiters, the team has decided to release the Russian forward.
According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the 76ers have released Kirilenko.
Kirilenko will have to make a decision quick on whether he wants to play again this year, or where he wants to play before the deadline comes up for veterans to be a part of playoff rosters.
However, ESPN’s Marc Stein is reporting that Kirilenko will have a long list of suitors should he decide to join a contending team for the stretch run of the season.
So Kirilenko’s less than memorable stint for the 76ers has come to an end. It remains to be seen if he will join a contender for the playoffs, but he could be a valuable addition to any team chasing an NBA Championship this season.
