The two connected on a sick, half-court alley-oop on Sunday against the Washington Wizards that has to make Detroit fans excited about the future.

The Pistons ultimately came away with a 106-89 victory in Jackson’s debut. Drummond finished the game with 18 points and 16 rebounds while Jackson rebounded from a slow first-half to post 17 points, five assists and five rebounds.

The win gives Detroit a 23-33 record, just .5 games behind the No. 8 seeded Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference. With Jackson on board after an NBA Trade Deadline deal, the Pistons are in a great position to make a push for the playoffs in the second half of the season.

Jackson is averaging 12.8 points (43.2 percent shooting from the field, 27.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc), 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game this season. Drummond is averaging 12.7 points (49.7 percent shooting from the field), 13.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.

The Pistons drafted Drummond with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.
