Report: Anthony Davis to miss 1-2 weeks with shoulder injury
By Sam Richmond
New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis will miss up to two weeks with a shoulder injury he suffered Saturday against the Miami Heat.
In the midst of a playoff race, the New Orleans Pelicans will have to survive without their superstar for the foreseeable future.

The Pelicans announced Sunday that Anthony Davis has been diagnosed with a right shoulder sprain and will miss 1-2 weeks of action.
Davis suffered the injury upon colliding with Hassan Whiteside in the first quarter of the Pelicans’ game against the Miami Heat on Sunday.
This isn’t the first time Davis will miss time this season due to an injury to his right shoulder. After initially injuring it on Feb. 7 against the Chicago Bulls, Davis missed two games as well as the all-star game.
It’s a tough break for the Pelicans, who find themselves two games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference at the moment. It will be difficult for the Pelicans to climb the standings without Davis, who is averaging an incredible 23.9 points per game (54.4 percent shooting from the floor), 10.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game.
However, the Thunder will be without its own superstar, Kevin Durant, for at least the next week to a foot injury, which should make it easier for New Orleans to remain in the hunt.
The Pelicans also lost fellow big man Ryan Anderson to injury during Saturday’s game against the Heat. Anderson will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a sprained MCL in his right knee. Anderson is averaging 14.6 points (40.9 percent shooting from the field, 34.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc) and 5.1 rebounds per game.
Anderson has spent the past three seasons with New Orleans since the team acquired him in a sign-and-trade in 2012.
The Pelicans drafted Davis with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of Kentucky.
