The Mavericks were playing the Hornets on Sunday night, leading late in the game. One of the key players for Dallas has been veteran forward Richard Jefferson.
The veteran forward has been making an impact defensively all night for the Mavericks.
He also had a highlight reel slam.
Towards the end of the third quarter, the Mavericks got out in transition and Devin Harris found the trailing Jefferson for the slam.
Not only did Jefferson throw it down, he went up and over Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and put him on a poster.
While statistically Jefferson hasn’t had a great year for the Mavericks, he’s having a nice game as the games become even bigger for Dallas as they look to improve their seeding come playoff time.
For Kidd-Gilchrist, anytime you let a player’s best days who are long behind him put you on a poster, it’s probably a moment he would like to forget.
For a brief moment Sunday night, fans were able to catch a glimpse of the mid-2000’s Jefferson.
