30. The Jets are in desperate need of a quarterback who is a good decision maker, throws accurate passes without committing turnovers and can be a locker room leader. The reigning Heisman trophy winner gives the Jets all of these qualities, plus elite athleticism that would keep defenses off balance. One of the problems with the Jets offense is that it allowed their opponents to gain a level of comfort, and Mariota’s appeal is how uncomfortable and off balance he makes defenses. <p>One concern with Mariota is that he is a system quarterback. To say his success is solely due to the fast-paced spread offense at Oregon would be entirely incorrect.
