After the huge 6-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks this past Sunday, the Boston Bruins are stepping it up just in time for post-season. Losing center David Krejci to a partially torn MCL wasn’t part of the celebration though.

Following the Bruins’ big win this past Sunday it was announced that David Krejci had sustained an injury during their game against the St. Louis Blues this past Friday. After he sat out in Sundays game against the ‘Hawks, Bruins’ GM has now announced that Krejci will be out between 4-6 weeks due to a partially torn MCL.

With other teams in the Eastern Conference, such as the Philadelphia Flyers and Florida Panthers, closely trailing them, the Bruins can’t take any losses. Although the Bruins are currently in second place for the wild card in the Eastern Conference, there is still a possibility that we could seem this team come playoffs.

Considering Krejci has already missed 20 games prior to this past Sundays’, it’s safe to say that this wasn’t his season. However, he isn’t alone when it comes to facing struggles this season. The Bruins’ offensive players as a whole have been fighting to score goals and put up points for their team, but this has definitely been a weak area for them.

Krejci currently has 26 points in the past 36 games the Bruins’ have played this season, proving that he is an essential player concerning their weak offense. Although he has been on a dry spell as of late, it is still possible for him to come through for his team whenever possible.

The injury was suffered during this past Friday’s game against the St. Louis Blues. Getting set back another 4-6 weeks, and into the end of the regular season.

The Bruins’ are set to take on the Vancouver Canucks tomorrow night. Until then, we won’t know what the team will look like without Krejci on the line. If the Bruins’ can keep up the pace they did on Sunday against the Blackhawks, this team definitely has a chance of stepping-up from a wild card to a playoff position.
