As if there stadium wasn’t loud enough, the Seattle Seahawks added 1,000 seats to CenturyLink Field.
It’s a known fact that the Seattle Seahawks have not only the loudest stadium in the NFL, but also the loudest stadium in all of sports. Whether it’s the swagger of their defense led by the Legion of Boom or their dismay after losing the Seattle SuperSonics, the Seahawks are fueled by their city’s fanbase. Each Sunday, when games are played at CenturyLink Field, blue and green fills the stadium and they do whatever they can to have their team come out on top with the victory.

Even though the Seahawks have the loudest stadium in the league, it’s only going to get louder as the Seahawks are officially adding 1,000 more seats to the stadium. According to Pro Football Talk, the Seahawks announced on Monday that they plan to add 1,000 seats to the stadium. In their stadium, the Seahawks set a record for attendance at the NFC Championship Game with 68,538 people cheering at the stadium. However, that record could be broken multiple times in 2015 when the Seahawks put the addition on.
Where those 1,000 seats will be added is extremely unique. Before every game, the Seahawks raise a “12” flag to honor the team’s fan base. Those 1,000 seats will be added above the south end zone on both sides of that “12” flag. The cooler addition is what is in between the new seats. In that area, there will be a covered area with TVs and a fireplace. Peter McLoughlin, the team’s president, says that it will have a cool outdoor cabin feel.
At the Super Bowl, the Seahawks wore a “12” patch to honor their fans. Considering their tenacity, the Seahawks truly do thrive off their fan base. McLoughlin talked about how the franchise wants to give back to the fans even further.
‘Let’s do something really good for the fans, something different and unique,’” McLoughlin said in a release from the team.
On top of those added seats, the Seahawks will be adding eight new suites. As to no one’s surprise, these suits have already been sold. With the new additions the Seahawks have put on, don’t be surprised if the Seahawks host multiple games this season with an attendance of over 70,000 people.
