Derek Carr

The Fresno State prospect was considered among the second tier of quarterbacks in last year’s draft, after Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel. While Bridgewater has been promising in Minnesota, Carr has lapped the other two quarterbacks many times in terms of his production.

Derek Carr has been exceptionally sharp at quarterback, doing a fabulous job avoiding sacks and finding a way to connect with his targets despite the fact the team was fourth in the NFL in dropped passes. Carr received very little help from his running game at the start of the year, yet demonstrated poise and collectedness despite the monumental pressure thrown his way.

He also demonstrated that he can perform in shootouts, throwing for four touchdowns in week five against the surging Chargers.

If Carr can maintain his pace of development, he will be at minimum a postseason-caliber quarterback for the Oakland Raiders.
