Last week at the trade deadline, Kevin Garnett waived his no-trade clause and accepted a deal that would send him back to Minnesota to finish out his career with the Timberwolves. It was a rare instance in which a star who had left his original team actually returned late in his career. We often dream about it happening, but too often it ends in legends looking weird in random jerseys–such as Garnett did in a black and white Nets joint.
Still yet to play a game with the Wolves, today Kevin Garnett officially returned home to Minnesota as the team held a press conference to introduce him. Unsurprisingly, the event lead to a number of cool moments, such as this:
As Young Jeezy once said, “welcome back.”
Of course, the press conference couldn’t end without a few gems from the Big Ticket himself.
Classic.
KG also added this:
And that’s the coolest part of this move. Garnett returning home allows him to settle into an advisory role, which, given his vast knowledge of the game, he will excel at. If they’re willing to listen, this can be an incredible experience for the young guys on the Wolves.
