New York Yankees angry with Alex Rodriguez for showing up early (Report)
By Robby Sabo
Because Alex Rodriguez showed up to camp a couple days early, the Yankees have reportedly become steamed at the lightning-rod.
It’s hard to believe, but with the fight of the century now set, the marriage between the New York Yankees and Alex Rodriguez is wackier than that of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.
If you thought A-Rod’s well crafted, hand-written apology to fans would be the end of the Yankees-Rodriguez saga then you’re a sad human being indeed.

Of course that wasn’t going to be the end of it. This is Alex Rodriguez, the poster boy for not “trying” to stay in the limelight but always finding his way there.
This time though, it seems he didn’t do anything wrong at all.
A report from the New York Daily News is circulating that the Yankees brass is very upset that Rodriguez showed up to spring training two-days prior to when he was required to report. While all position players are to report by Wednesday in Tampa, A-Rod showed up on Monday which naturally created somewhat of a media buzz.
The Daily News is reporting that the Yankees didn’t care if number 13 wanted to show up early, it’s that he didn’t alert them to the fact that he would.
Well isn’t that just dandy.
Really? You’re steamed at the guy for not alerting you?
Let’s be honest – all of this needs to be on the Yankees shoulders.
Rodriguez lied, cheated and squirmed his way through tight spots his entire career. Granted, the use of PED’s hadn’t been revealed until after they signed him to the mega 10-year contract, but if it hadn’t been for Hal Steinbrenner swooping in after Rodriguez opted out of his contract, the Yankees wouldn’t be facing this issue right now.
Brian Cashman never wanted this guy in the first place, and said he’d never re-sign him if he opted out back in 2007.
Fast forward to the past few years. Rodriguez has been blown up for performance enhancing drugs and yet the Yankees continue to deal with the nonsense.
Why? Because whether they like it or not, he’s still a major drawing card to put fannies in the seats. A much-needed drawing card after Derek Jeter had walked into the cornfields.
Regardless, these are the Yankees, and if they wanted to buy A-Rod out they could have done it in a nano-second. The instant respect this organization would have received if they told Rodriguez to take a hike and paid him while doing it, would have been something very positive.
Instead they took the financial road and have to deal with nonsense like this every step of the way.
