St. Louis Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals are a darkhorse team to keep an eye on, but they would be an ideal fit for Cole Hamels. He would immediately become a key piece on one of the National League’s top teams, and would have a chance to help power them to another World Series appearance.

Hamels would be a huge addition for the Cardinals’ rotation, which is already expected to be solid. St. Louis always has a talented lineup, and that will be the case once again this year. There is some competition in the NL this season, which is another reason that the Cardinals should seriously consider making a run at Hamels if they can agree to a price.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see them push their name into the mix when the trade deadline rolls around. They have quite a bit of talent in the minor leagues, and there are some names that could intrigue Philadelphia and force them to pull the trigger.
