There latest buzz indicates screenshots of the video have been released to the media as negotiations for the footage heat up. Of course, it has been nothing but rumors to this point, but pieces are coming together.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk indicated the incident in question happened in 2011 and that it was in a store parking lot.
Florio also acknowledged that league insiders have known about the alleged video for quite some time — even going as far as to say that ESPN has been working on a story that they are ready to publish as soon as the video leaks.
Backing up Florio’s claims are comments from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
The comments came from an appearance on ESPN 1000 in Chicago on Monday. Schefter confirmed that the rumors have been floating around and that he has been working on the story since September. Schefter says the rumors have eaten up a lot of his time, but he stopped short of providing any details.
Here is the audio:
Whether the video is ever released remains to be seen — or if it even exists — so we will have to patiently sit back and wait.
