FanDuel Daily Picks: Fantasy Basketball Lineup, February 25
Power Forward Picks
High Salary: With many top PF options sidelined, LaMarcus Aldridge is expected to return tonight for the Trail Blazers as they host the Spurs. Aldridge has turned in excellent games against San Antonio so far this year averaging 26.3 points and 12.7 rebounds in the teams’ three previous meetings. His thumb injury continues to be an issue, but he is averaging over 20 points and 10 boards so far this month, so is still being very productive. Since he’s been out, his 9,300 salary is a bit high, but he won’t be very owned and I thin you’ll get a good line from him tonight against the Spurs in the late game.
High Salary: Another big-name PF worth his price tonight is Pau Gasol who will be one of the Bulls adjusting to life after Derrick Rose. Gasol has been outstanding this season with double-doubles almost every game. He and the Bulls tangle with the Hornets tonight in another matchup he should be able to exploit. Gasol has at least 28 FanDuel points in each of his last ten games and is such a multi-category contributor that he can help your team in enough ways to always be a fantasy factor. Earlier this season when Rose was sidelined, Gasol took his game to another level and he’ll need to step up again for Chicago starting tonight against Charlotte.
Bonus High Salary Option: It’s impossible for me to leave Zach Randolph out of my picks for tonight as the big Grizzlies PF takes on the Kings who have struggled with who to play at PF all season. Randolph is a double-double machine, and if you can’t quite get to the Gasol/Aldrige salary level give Z-Bo a look in a favorable matchup on the road in Sacramento tonight.
High Value: The Rockets are still without Dwight Howard, but Terrence Jones has been huge for them since the All Star break and will have plenty to deal with tonight as the Clippers and DeAndre Jordan come to Houston. Jones started and played 32 minutes against the Timberwolves on Monday finishing with 15 points, 15 rebounds, and a pair of blocks. He has multiple blocks and at least nine rebounds and nine points in each of his three games since the All Star break posting 31.8, 26, and 38 FanDuel points. Look for another busy game for Jones tonight as long as he can avoid foul trouble against the Clippers.
High Value: In that Timberwolves-Rockets game on Monday, Adreian Payne got the start for Minnesota and posted 11 points and ten rebounds in his 29 minutes. With Kevin Garnett moving into the starting lineup, Payne will probably go back to the bench but should still play solid minutes behind the veteran KG which makes him an interesting play at just 3,700.
