Madonna performed at the Brit Awards for the first time in 20 years and likely won’t be returning for another two decades after she had an awkward and painful looking fall while performing.
It has been a long time since we’ve seen Madonna dancing across a stage like she did when she was arguably the most famous female musician in the 80s, but even though she’s not in her prime, she can still draw a crowd.

Unfortunately, she was in a situation where she wished there wasn’t anyone around to see what happened at the Brit Awards.
Madonna was performing in London on Wednesday when she had a wardrobe malfunction — not a Janet Jackson malfunction — and was yanked so violently that she fell backwards down the steps she was standing on and fell hard to the ground.
More from TMZ:
"The singer was performing Wednesday night at the Brit Awards in London, wearing a cape with her back to the audience. The plan was for the backup dancer to dramatically pull the cape off of her as she revealed a sparkly outfit. But before the pull Madonna was supposed to untie the cape strap around her neck. It got stuck and before it could be undone the backup dancer did his thing, propelling Madonna neck first into the stage. She took a minute to collect herself and then went on performing. It’s the first time in 20 years Madonna appeared at the Brit Awards.Good bet it will take another 20 to get her back."
Here’s another look at the yank and fall from Deadspin. Like any true professional she knows the show must go on, so kudos to her for getting right back on her feet and not letting the embarrassment ruin the performance.
Not the most graceful look and you can bet that backup dancer was fired after the performance.
