Bench Brawl breaks out between the Capitals and Penguins (Video)
A bench brawl broke out in a game between the Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
This game had a street fight mentality written all over it.
The Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals are no strangers to each other. The rivalry between the two teams started when superstars Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin first entered the league and were immediately linked together. The rivalry with each other helped fuel the rivalry between the two teams over the years, and a playoff series between the two teams in 2009 added to that.

Now the teams are division rivals in the Metropolitan division, which means the teams play each other more often and adds even more importance to the games. Wednesday night would be the fourth and final times the teams would meet during the regular season. It would also be the second time the teams would meet in eight days, as well as the third time in four weeks.
The Capitals have had the Penguins number so far this season, winning all previous three games while outscoring the Penguins by a combined 10-1. Still, the Penguins came into the game with a 1 point lead in the standings. Needless to say, the Penguins came in with a chip on their shoulder.
With the Penguins up 1-0 early in the game, tensions were already beginning to boil over.
Of course, Tom Wilson is right in the middle of it. Well, actually, he was at the bottom of it, as he ended up on the floor of the Penguins bench. Wilson got into it with Penguins forward Black Comeau. Comeau wrestled with Wilson right into the Penguins bench, which caused all mayhem to break loose.
The Penguins ended up winning the game 4-3, finally paying back the Capitals and getting a 3 point lead over the Capitals in the Metropolitan division. The two won’t see each other anymore during the regular season, but if they end up seeing each other in the playoffs, expect to see much more of this.
