There aren’t many more accomplished QB’s than the Denver Broncos starting QB, Peyton Manning. Is he going to restructure his contract to bring in more talent?

It looks like the Denver Broncos are going to keep winning after all.

There’s a new report that Broncos starting quarterback, Peyton Manning is willing to restructure his contract in order to give the Broncos more financial flexibility in order to surround the team with more talent.

More from Denver Broncos

Manning is schedule to make $19 million this season (2015) and next season (2016) and according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, the five-time NFL MVP is willing to take a reduction with his salary. This move is significantly important because Manning’s favorite target Demaryius Thomas is a free agent this offseason. Resigning Thomas is key if the Broncos want to continue to sustain success and continuity within their offense.

However, restructuring contracts can be a bit of a headache and are some what difficult which is partially one of the reasons why we haven’t gotten a hard statement from Manning about his intentions of playing football next season.

After the 24-13 playoff loss that the Broncos had to the Indianapolis Colts where Manning went 24-of-46 for 211 yards, and one touchdown, it was evident that Manning needs more help on his team.

Because of the way that the season ended last year a lot of people foolishly have started to write off Manning. Last season he started and played in every game, and he helped lead the Broncos to a 12-4 record. In addition Manning nearly once again almost threw for 5,000 yards and 40 touchdown passes as he finished the season with 4,727 yards, 39 touchdowns, while boasting a 66 percent completion percentage.

On the surface this is good news for Broncos fans because not only do they get to retain one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game of football, they also get to keep stability in their organization. Under Manning’s leadership under center for the Broncos they’ve already reached the mountain top getting to the Super Bowl, and AFC Championship games.

The deal shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. For a competitor like Manning it’s not a wild guess to see that he wants to have another Super Bowl win under his belt before he leaves the game of football. Manning’s made plenty of money in his career, and just from endorsements alone it’s safe to say that he’s financially secure.

If Manning were to restructure his contract and bring in more talent around him, then his chances of winning another ring would drastically increase.
