LeBron James and his Cavaliers decided to make a statement to the rest of the NBA tonight as they knocked off the best in the league.

Final. 99. 41. 110. 156

As a fan you can start to feel it. It’s the same feeling other NBA teams were dreading a couple of months ago.

29 squads across the association are starting to hear the footsteps of LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers.

Tonight they decided to further the sound of those footsteps as they completely manhandled the best team in the NBA, the Stephen Curry lead Golden State Warriors by the final of 110-99.

James was simply dominant.

From the start LeBron seemed to be on that familiar mission we’ve come to be familiar with. He finished with a season best 42 points on the night, shooting a spot-on 15 of 26 from the field while chipping in with nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Point guard Kyrie Irving played to his usual role as Robin, pouring in 24 points in 36 minutes. Coach David Blatt received a bit of a scare in the second half when Irving left the game due to an apparent shoulder injury, but returned a little later to allow the entire building to breathe again.

Cleveland took a 61-56 lead at halftime and slowly extended the lead in the third quarter where it reached double digits.

For Golden State, frustrations ran high all night as no point in the contest did the result seem in doubt.

Head coach Steve Kerr agreed with that:

Kerr couldn’t blame the refs for his team’s poor shooting. The Warriors only shot a meager 41 percent on the night which pales in comparison to their regular .479 mark which leads the league.

As the matchup was so hyped to feature LeBron and Stephen Curry, only one showed up.

Curry went for 18, but only shot five of 17 from the floor. One of the major reasons this squad still has the best record in the league (now 44-11), is partly due to Curry’s ridiculous high percentages form the floor.

In fact, nobody from the Warriors could crack the 20 point mark on the night. The other half of the Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson, also suffered through a poor shooting night with a 5 for 13 mark.

The win marks the Cavs (37-22) 17th win in their last 19 games. They’re hitting their stride at exactly the right time in the season and it could turn out to be a dreaded nightmare for some of the other pleasant surprises in the league such as the Atlanta Hawks.

Cleveland currently enjoys a 37-22 record which has surpassed the now Derrick Rose-less Chicago Bulls by a half-game in the Central Division.
