Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos could be an interesting candidate for Darnell Dockett. They have Sylvester Williams and current free agent Terrance Knighton as their defensive tackles right now, but Dockett could probably outplay both of them, especially Williams who he is two inches taller than. Williams also only had 21 tackles and no sacks in the 2014-15 season, so you can expect that Denver is looking for defensive linemen to help their defense.

Terrance Knighton, who played almost 50 percent of all defensive snaps has made it clear that he wants to play for a team that can win, but also wants to be paid like the player he is (pretty obvious wants there huh?). Whether Knighton wants to sign back with Denver could play into whether or not they want to make a run at Dockett.

They also have plenty of cap space to sign Dockett right now to the contract he’s looking for, but Denver may be looking to spend the money on offense with Peyton Manning’s return questionable, and receivers looking to test free agency.

Peyton Manning sounds like he’s going to come back to Denver, but he’s not going to come back without making a lot of money. If Denver wants to play it safe and make sure that they can sign Manning as well as new tools he may need on offense, they make back off and not try and go for the defensive lineman that they don’t 100 percent need right now.
