The Bulls will be without Derrick Rose for four-six weeks after undergoing knee surgery so will they add a guard to the roster to replace him while he’s out?
Derrick Rose will miss at least four weeks and as long as six weeks to recover after undergoing knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus, the same injury he suffered 15 months ago and cost him the rest of the 2013-2014 season.

Unlike last year’s surgery, the Bulls believe this was a relatively minor operation and expect him returning before the end of the regular season and being healthy for the postseason.
“There’s the old saying that surgery’s minor as long as it’s on somebody else,” Bulls general manager Gar Forman said, via ESPNChicago.com. “But in this case, in comparison to what Derrick’s had to go through the last several years, this surgery really was minor.”
Rose is expected to begin working out again on Saturday at the team’s facility, but will the Bulls explore adding a guard to the roster to fill the void left by the former league MVP?
ESPN Chicago Bulls reporter Nick Friedell relays what the team’s vice president, John Paxson told ESPN 1000 about potentially adding a guard to the roster to replace Rose.

Of course, this decision could be made for them considering the NBA trade deadline has already passed and adding any valuable pieces to the roster is much more difficult now than it would have been two weeks ago.
However, the Bulls have insurance in Aaron Brooks already on the roster and he should be able to handle meaningful minutes in the interim until Rose returns. If he needs the full six weeks to return he will have three regular season games left to get his legs underneath him before the playoffs begin.
The Bulls hold a half game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers for the central division lead with a 37-22 record. Rose is averaging 18.4 points, 5 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 46 games this season.
