5. A.J. Hawk, Linebacker
The Green Bay Packers made a very difficult decision to cut veteran linebacker A.J. Hawk to save money, and he is a very intriguing free agent. Plenty of teams need help and leadership at the linebacker position, and those are two things Hawk can bring to any situation he is put in.
During the 2014 season, Hawk was a major disappointment for the Packers. He ended up recording 90 tackles to go along with 0.5 sacks, but he simply wasn’t the consistent player and leader that he has been in years past.
Whether that was due to the addition of Julius Peppers or moving Clay Matthews inside, it just wasn’t a great year for him. He still has some talent left to give on the field, however.
Each of the previous two seasons before last year, Hawk recorded over 115 tackles, and was one of the most consistent players in the NFL. Hawk would provide excellent help for quite a few defenses across the NFL, and it will be very intriguing to see where he ends up when everything is said and done.
