Simeon Rice: ‘There is no Hall of Fame without me in it’
Ex- NFL defensive end Simeon Rice believes he deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Not only does ex-NFL defensive end Simeon Rice believe he should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but he thinks that it’s wrong that he has not yet been inducted.

During Rice’s 12-year NFL career, he compiled 122 sacks while collecting at least 10 sacks in a single season eight times, while having three Pro Bowl appearances. He also added 389 tackles with 28 forced fumbles and five interceptions during his career. He began his career with the Arizona Cardinals before moving on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he won a Super Bowl in 2002. He finished his career in 2007 where he split time with the Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts.
Rice recently told SB Nation that ‘there is no Hall of Fame without me in it.’
"There’s no Hall of Fame without me in it. There’s just not. I dominated when I played. There was nobody better at my position. Nobody."
Rice seems to be a bit bitter about the fact that certain other players are in the Hall of Fame and he is not. He seems to take a jab at a certain longtime New York Giants defensive end and Hall of Famer.
"I didn’t have nobody falling down to help me get sacks. I didn’t have that. I had to earn everything I got."
I believe what Rice is referring to is when Michael Strahan broke the NFL sack record when he came in on Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre and Favre just went down to protect himself, effectively giving Strahan the sack.
Okay Simeon, we’ll take that one away. Strahan still has 18.5 more sacks in his career than you do, sir. Don’t be petty.
In comparison, Strahan appeared in seven Pro Bowls and three Super Bowls, winning two of them (2004, 2007). He compiled 141.5 sacks with 24 forced fumbles and 659 tackles. He also added four interceptions, returning two of them for touchdowns.
Simeon Rice had a tremendous career and he most likely will be selected to the Hall of Fame eventually, but he has to realize that there maybe were some other players who were more deserving then him that had to be inducted first.
