New Arrow/Flash spin-off series in the works
By 1
The CW is currently developing a spin-off series set in the same universe as popular shows “Arrow” and “The Flash.”
Do you love Arrow? I bet you were excited to hear about it’s spin-off, the now extremely popular The Flash, being made, weren’t you? And now you’re a huge fan of The Flash as well, I’d bet. Are you ready for some more good news?
(I could say it’ll be heading your way “in a flash”, but I’ll refrain)

Deadline broke the news that after the successes of both shows, another television series set in the same superhero universe as the two is currently in the works. Though it may not be set in either Starling City or Central City (we’re actually not sure where, as of yet), several actors from both shows are set to reprise their roles in the new series: Brandon Routh, Arrow’s Ray Palmer/The Atom; Victor Garber, The Flash’s Dr. Martin Stein; Wentworth Miller, resident Flash villain Leonard Snart, aka “Captain Cold”; and Caity Lotz, who played Sara Lance/Black Canary on Arrow.
As her character was killed off on Arrow, it’s unknown whether Lotz will reprise her role or play an entirely new character. Nevertheless, the line-up is intriguing, and the mixture of heroes and villains is making many fans speculate that the show will be an adaptation of the DC comic book series from the 1950s, “The Brave and the Bold”, set in the DC universe but hopping around from place to place and teaming up ‘good’ and ‘bad’ guys alike.
In addition to that casting announcement, the source reveals that they have info that the new series will also feature three new DC Comics characters that have never before been shown on screen.
After the amazing Flash vs. Arrow crossovers from last fall, I’m crossing my fingers that there will be guest appearances on this new show from the older ones, as well. Grant Gustin’s presence lights up my screen, and he and Stephen Amell play off one another so well.
Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Sarah Schechter, and Mark Guggenheim are set to produce the show, which seems likely to not be included in the pilot schedule and instead jump straight to series– as early as next midseason.
