Gabriel Landeskog punches Wild player on the bench
By Andrew Ross
Saturday night’s game between the Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild got really ugly at the end.
Colorado and Minnesota are both battling near the bottom of the Western Conference’s playoff race, and that added a lot of tension to their game last night.

Minnesota currently has a three-point lead over the last seed in the playoffs, and Colorado is five points away from the final spot in the West.
The Wild were one their way to a big 3-1 win whenever Colorado’s Cody McLeod started a fight with Minnesota’s Charlie Coyle with only three seconds remaining in the game.
This whole fight seemed incredibly unnecessary and simply poor sportsmanship from the Avalanche, but this wasn’t the end of it all.
Soon after that fight, Colorado’s Gabriel Landeskog took a cheap shot at Minnesota’s Mikko Koivu when the latter was just on the bench doing nothing.
Although it didn’t look like an extremely powerful punch that hurt Koivu or injured him in any way, that doesn’t change the fact that it was a very disappointing thing to do from Landeskog.
Unfortunately, nothing will happen to Landeskog for his embarrassing actions as he was only hit with a misconduct penalty.
Hockey really needs to clean up things like this.
