According to ESPN’s Mark Dominik, the Miami Dolphins have a “real shot” at signing Detroit Lions star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh this offseason.
The NFL offseason has arrived, and there are quite a few players expected to change teams through free agency. One of those players appears to be Detroit Lions star defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh.
Detroit decided not to place the franchise tag on Suh, and that will likely send him into the open market. Assuming that does indeed happen, there are already plenty of teams who are planning to make a run at him with quite a bit of money to offer. One team that is a darkhorse to sign him is the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN’s Mark Dominik.
Dominik just called Suh a "generational free agent." Compared him to Reggie White. Said the Dolphins 1 of 3 teams with a real shot. Uh oh.

Miami ended the 2014 regular season ranked sixth against the pass and 24th against the run defensively. They have a very solid secondary, but they are needing some major help on the defensive line. That makes Suh a perfect fit for them, and he would immediately take the Dolphins up in those rankings.

There are already quite a few teams that have shown interest in signing Suh this afternoon. Tampa Bay and Washington are two teams that plan to pursue him, and you can mark the Dolphins down as yet another team that will be throwing an offer at him when free agency opens up.
It will be very intriguing to keep an eye on all of the rumors that begin swirling around about Suh. Things have already begun to pick up and he hasn’t even officially hit the market yet. Detroit hasn’t given up hopes of signing him long-term before he can reach a deal with other teams, but it doesn’t look very likely at this point in time.
Assuming he does hit the market, the Dolphins will be a very intriguing possibility for Suh. He would be able to play in the beautiful city of Miami and be the cornerstone for an already solid defense. Miami’s offense is getting better around Ryan Tannehill, and the Dolphins are a move or two away from getting back into the playoffs.
