5. Improve Game Plans And Coaching

This final point doesn’t necessarily fit in with the offseason, but they are going to need much better coaching and game planning looking ahead to 2015. The Oakland Raiders went out and hired Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio as their next head coach, and it will be interesting to see whether or not he brings that improvement to the table.

Del Rio didn’t have a great track record with the Jacksonville Jaguars as their head coach, but perhaps Oakland will be a better situation for him. He is certainly not going to be any worse than the coaching changes that the Raiders have had over the past few seasons.

Derek Carr and company need consistently solid coaching, and that is what the Raiders believe Del Rio will bring to the table. He has always been a strong teacher and motivator, but he’ll need to step it up this time around in every single aspect to help take the Raiders over the hump and into postseason contention.
