During a Wednesday night match up between two premiere teams in the Eastern conference, Toronto Raptors forward Jonas Valanciunas takes LeBron James down to the floor with a hard foul
When LeBron James gets a full head of steam going to the basket, there isn’t much that can stop him. So when Jonas Valanciunas saw James coming at him during Wednesday night’s game between the Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers, he did the only thing he could do. He grabbed him by the shoulder blades and took him to the hardwood.
It was obvious that Valanciunas didn’t mean to hurt LeBron. After he committed the foul he tried extending his hand to help the former MVP up off the floor. Apparently LeBron wasn’t feeling as sportsmanlike as Valanciunas. He swatted his hand away and continued to shout choice words at the Raptors center as he was helped up by his teammates.
LeBron has been dealing with hard fouls lately as the season starts to get more and more intense. During a back and forth overtime win for the Rockets, guard James Harden hit James where it hurts most. James was suspended one game for the incident.
Valanciunas was given a flagrant foul for his hard hit on James. It seemed to fire up the King a little bit. One thing I know about LeBron is that in a close game the last thing you want is for him to be mad. As the play continues, we will see how much effect this hard foul had on the outcome of this critical game in the Eastern Conference.
