I don’t think a lot of people thought Le’Veon Bell would be as good in the NFL as he has been, and that includes some of the most popular people at ESPN like Mel Kiper and Todd McShay.
Great athletes often have to create chips on their shoulders in order for them to push as hard as they do, and it looks like Le’Veon Bell is getting pretty good at that.
On Tuesday night, Bell – out of nowhere – went on a huge Twitter rant about how he feels about Mel Kiper and Todd McShay (probably the two most well-known draft analysts out there).
I think it's so funny how Mel Kiper is just "qualified" to tlk about the draft...dude be wrong with just about everything tho...

of course anybody can say anything about a "can't miss" prospect like Clowney or Peyton Manning or somethin like that...
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) March 4, 2015
but he was WRONG about Ray Lewis, he def was WRONG about me...he has his favorites, and it's just crazy that ppl listen to that dude
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) March 4, 2015
him and his buddy Todd Mcshey...no way they watch legitimate film on all the prospects and can understand the way to compare and contrast
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) March 4, 2015
they both just have their favorites, and roll with they favorites all year...straight upp
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) March 4, 2015
just go to http://t.co/3NPEbvcETH and look what he said about my "skills" transitioning to the next level...
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) March 4, 2015
all the things he said I "struggled" with, I'm excelling in! but of course he didn't know that cuz he didn't watch no legitimate film on me.
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) March 4, 2015
but to all the draft prospects out there, don't even worry about what they say on TV cuz NFL coaches watch film, and I mean LEGITIMATE film

Like I said, this came out of nowhere and I wish I knew what provoked Bell to blow up like this.
Bell putting this chip on his shoulder – that makes sense – but I think those of us on the outside looking in can understand the other side of this better than Bell can.
Obviously these draft analysts aren’t going to get every pick right. That is simply not possible. I’m sure there were tons of analysts and people in general who thought Ryan Leaf would be better than Peyton Manning.
Besides some of the very few golden prospects like Andrew Luck, most of their opinions have a lot of luck involved with them. You can watch a player a lot, but however he plays in college won’t necessarily translate to the NFL – and you also can’t predict how much a player will improve (like Bell).
I also don’t understand Bell’s view on the whole “legitimate film” thing. What makes the film others are watching illegitimate?
Regardless of all this nonsense, Bell is definitely one of the best young players in the game today and he could make a case for being the best back in football right now.
After a promising rookie year with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bell dominated last season with a total of 2,215 yards (1,361 rushing, 854 receiving) and 11 touchdown (8 rushing, 3 receiving).
