Michael Beasley sings Vanessa Carlton’s ‘A Thousand Miles’ (Video)
By Sam Richmond
Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley performed Vanessa Carlton’s ‘A Thousand Miles’ at Shane Battier’s annual karaoke event on Tuesday.
Michael Beasley is back in the NBA and we’re all better off for it. This isn’t because the Kansas State product is a great basketball player. No, Beasley’s value to us will generally come from his off-the-court activities.

For example, Beasley wasn’t the missing championship piece for the Miami Heat last season, but he did once anger LeBron James for singing and and using waffle fries as a spoon in the locker room.
Beasley’s latest legendary off-the-court moment came on Tuesday when he attended Shane Battier’s annual karaoke event on Tuesday and performed an impassioned rendition of Vanessa Carlton’s ‘A Thousand Miles’ with his former college and current Heat teammate, Henry Walker.
Never change, Beasley. Never change.
Beasley and Walker weren’t the only members of the Heat organization to give notable performances. Heat president Pat Riley and coach Erik Spoelstra also gave it their all on stage.
If only the Heat could translate their karaoke skills to the basketball court. Miami currently finds itself with just s 26-33 record, good for the No. 7 seed in a dreadful Eastern Conference.
Beasley is averaging 9.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game this season.
