Calgary Flames defenseman David Schlemko put on a shootout move that would make you forget that David Schlemko is a defenseman.

We have the latest crazy shootout move from the inimitable David Schlemko of the Calgary Flames. This may also be the only shootout move ever recorded by Schlemko.

Either way, it’s awesome and out of the blue and we hope to see more of it, even if it means waiting for another long shootout involving the surprising Flames.

Silky, silky, silky on that move. Watch Schlemko’s feet as he shuffles from the top of the circles and toward the net. It’s almost like he’s a world class ice skater or something. The goal was so good that Tuuka Rask couldn’t provide us with his usual postgame fireworks that come after a shootout loss.

The goal would hand the Calgary Flames yet another win in a season in which many (including Flames faithful) believed this team was in for another hard season that would see them closer to the draft lottery stages of the standings as opposed to just two points out of the playoff picture.

The Boston Bruins, meanwhile, are running out of answers in a season in which the team has watched point after point walk out the door against seemingly inferior clubs. The shootout has been such a hex to the club that of course Claude Julien complained about it as if it’s a new thing to complain about. Oh, Boston Bruins, never stop Bruin-ing.
