The statue is a perfect representation of Wilkins beginning to dunk.
Not only does the statue capture the classic pose well, it also captures one of the many features of Wilkins perfectly.
The statue has the famous Dominique Wilkins flat top that everyone remembers.
Wilkins is the best to ever lace up a pair of shoes for the Hawks. He is best remembered for his duel against Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics in the 1988 playoffs.
Now he and his flat top will forever be immortalized in front of the Philips Arena.
Whoever made the statue did a great job on the hair and probably could moonlight as a barber in most places.
Not only did Wilkins get a statue, he also got a street named after him.
Wilkins put the Hawks franchise on the map in Atlanta and the recognition he is receiving is well deserved.
The Hawks this year hold the best record in the NBA and have a chance to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals.
Excitement is back in Atlanta that hasn’t been seen since Wilkins and his flat top lit up the scoreboard every night.
