Rory McIlroy showed us all that even the best golfer in the world struggles on the links from time to time and isn’t immune to a blow up on the course.

The start of the 2015 golf season hasn’t exactly gone according to plan for world No. 1 Rory McIlroy who is playing with the weight of sky-high expectations and pressure of being the face of the tour.

Throughout his career, McIlroy has played the gentleman’s game with nothing but class, professionalism and dignity. But sometimes you just need to let it all our and chuck a club about 100 feet into the drink.

That’s what happened to McIlroy at theĀ World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship atĀ Trump National Doral in Miami, FL after he hit the ball into the pond.

He showed good form on the club toss. He kept his shoulders square and his head down. I would have liked to see him a little looser in the hips and follow through a little better, but overall it was a heckuva toss that many scratch golfers like myself can empathize with.

McIlroy took a drop and two-putted to salvage a bogey on the hole, his third in the last six holes. He finished the day -1 and is even through the first two rounds, but is well off the pace set by J.B. Holmes who began the day -10.

Are you prone to tossing your clubs into the drink? Do you prefer to snap the club over your knee? Maybe you just cuss like a sailor? What’s the craziest thing you’ve done on the links when you’ve been frustrated with your game?

Let us know in the comments section below.

I once snapped my putter over my knee because obviously the thing was defective after none of my putts were falling in the cup one afternoon.
