Adrien Broner will be looking to be on his best behavior Saturday night during the premiere of Premier Boxing Champions
Saturday night is a monumental night in the world of boxing as the sport will be making its return to network television with the premiere of Premier Boxing Champions on NBC. In the co-main event, the always-outspoken Adrien Broner will be taking on John Molina.
As we all have found out through the course of his career, one of the joys of watching a Broner fight is not just the action in the ring, but what happens afterwards. We all know that whenever a microphone is put in front of him after a bout, he’ll start to say things that tend to piss a lot of people off, quite frankly. He has no shame when it comes to offending people, which makes his appearance on live network a bit of a concern.
However, Broner doesn’t seem to believe there will be a problem, because he’ll be on his best behavior–or so he says.
In a recent interview with Bloody Elbow ahead of the event on Saturday night, Broner noted that he’ll be toning down his act a little bit because of the new viewers that the sport will be taking in on network television.
"“It feels great. This will be a first for me, fighting on NBC, but if Adrien Broner is on a card, I shouldn’t be anything else but the main event. I’m going to put on a show. Of course I’ll have to dial it down. On Showtime and HBO, everything was uncensored, but with NBC, more kids will have access to see me, so I have to take it down just a little. But, I’ve got to stay myself. I can’t change too much, because then I wouldn’t be myself.”"
Boy, it will be really intriguing to see what the definition of “dialing it down” is to Adrien Broner.
