NFL free agent running back Chris Johnson was shot in Florida over the weekend.
Scary news out of Florida on Sunday. It looks like free agent running back Chris Johnson, formerly with the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans, was shot in Florida last night.
Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer tweeted out the news and NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport followed up with more details.
Just received scary news that Chris Johnson was shot in FL last night. Been training w us in LA but went home for weekend. Damn.

The good news first and foremost is that Chris Johnson is alright and multiple reports say he will be okay, including an additional report for Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News and ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

You can see that the details surrounding this incident are still a bit murky. Rapoport reports that Johnson was shot in the arm while Schefter says it was his shoulder. It could be the arm near the shoulder.
[UPDATE:] More details from the Orlando Sentinel:
"The shooting took place at about 4:09 a.m. at the intersection of Southland Boulevard and Orange Blossom Trail, several blocks north of the Florida Mall, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.Deputies responded to a shooting call and arrived to find a Jeep the driver dead inside and two other men with gunshot wounds on the sidewalk.The victims said that an unknown vehicle pulled up beside them at the red light and opened fire into the Jeep, deputies said.The deceased driver was identified as Dreekins Oriko Johnson, 28.The two living victims, Reggie Johnson and Chris Johnson, both 29, were taken to a hospital in stable condition. Reggie Johnson was shot in the shoulder, hand and leg, while Chris Johnson was shot in the shoulder."
