Longtime 49ers running back Frank Gore will reportedly sign with the Eagles.

The dominos in free agency are beginning to fall. The latest is running back Frank Gore, who has played for the San Francisco 49ers for the duration of his career, appears to be heading to a new home on the other side of the country.

It appears that team is going to be the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles this week, traded away running back LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills for linebacker Kiko Alonso and with a void at the running back spot, it appears that Gore is the man in Philadelphia.

According to Adam Schefter, Gore has told people close to him, that he will be joining the Philadelphia Eagles this week.

While Gore is 32, he has been one of the toughest and most durable running backs throughout his career. Gore has had 1,000-yard rushing seasons the last four years in San Francisco and has had eight overall in his career. He also has rushed for an incredible 11,000+ yards for his entire career.

Despite all the carries, it doesn’t appear Gore is close to done yet and now it sounds like he will be bringing his physical run style to the NFC East.

Earlier it was reported that the Eagles had a $5 million offer on the table for Gore.

But it is reported that he is going to get a guaranteed $7.5 million between 2015 and 2016.

"Barring something unforeseen, Frank Gore will indeed be an Eagle, per league source. The deal is expected to pay $7.5M guaranteed in ’15-16. — ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) March 8, 2015"

For an older yet still very productive running back like Gore it’s a great deal. There’s been no word on San Francisco’s effort to keep the running back but the team appears to be heading toward changes this year under new head coach Jim Tomsula.

The Eagles just missed out on the playoffs last year with a 10-6 record and adding Gore provides another proven productive veteran to the roster and a player the Eagles can be excited about.

The running styles between McCoy and Gore will be noticeably different, but to be successful at running the ball in the NFL, team’s need running backs that can run between the trenches and that’s what Gore has done his entire career.
