The Titans are reportedly interested in Steelers free agent linebacker Jason Worilds

The Tennessee Titans are coming off an abysmal 2-14 season. Last season was the first year of the Ken Whisenhunt regime in Tennessee. With a bad record like 2-14, the Titans have many areas on the team that need to be addressed.

One of the areas the team is looking to address is the pass rusher.

One of those pass rushers that team could be interested in is Pittsburgh Steelers free agent outside linebacker Jason Worilds.

According to Jim Wyatt, Titans beat writer, the team has shown interest in Worilds.

The connection to Worilds makes all the sense in the world for the Titans.

Former Steelers defensive coach Ray Horton is the Titans defensive coordinator. Ken Whisenhunt spent his career as Steelers offensive coordinator before beginning his head coaching career in Arizona and Tennessee. The team has also brought in legendary defensive mind Dick LeBeau to help run the Titans defense.

The 3-4 system in Tennessee and schemes the LeBeau and Horton will run fit right in with Worilds. Bringing in former Steelers is nothing new for Ken Whisenhunt, as he created a pipeline of former Steelers joining the Cardinals during his time there as head coach.

Now he has the chance to do the same thing in Tennessee. The Titans would be the right fit for Worilds and he would be able to have an impact from day one.

With plenty of edge rushers on the market, the Titans might not have to worry about getting into a bidding war and overpaying for the services of Worilds.

The Titans hold the No. 2 pick in the draft and there is a good chance that they will further address the defense with that pick. Adding Worilds brings a guy familiar with the system and a guy that can help in the rebuild of the defense.
