San Diego Chargers re-sign CB Brandon Flowers
The San Diego Chargers made a big move Sunday, re-signing cornerback Brandon Flowers for a new four-year contract.
The San Diego Chargers reached a new deal with cornerback Brandon Flowers Sunday that will lock up their starting corner for the next four years, per Adam Schefter.
The 29-year-old corner out of Virginia Tech is entering his eighth season in the NFL. Flowers played his first six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, finishing his 2013 season with Kansas City with a career high in tackles with 63. After 2013, the Chiefs released Flowers which he wasn’t too happy about and went on to sign with AFC West rival San Diego, just so he could play the Chiefs twice.
After Flowers finished the 2014 season with San Diego with 48 tackles and three interceptions, the Chargers decided to re-sign the veteran corner for four more years. The deal will be for $36 million through the four years.
We’ll see if Brandon Flowers can continue to make the Kansas City Chiefs regret their decision to dump him before the 2014 season as he’ll spend the next four years wearing the Bolts.
The Chargers were in the mix to run at Ndamukong Suh and Randall Cobb, but Suh is set to sign with Miami and Cobb re-signed with Green Bay. The Bolts may try to make more big moves this offseason and with Ryan Mathews set to become a free agent, they may make a move at him.
