The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder knocked out his first home run of 2015 spring training on Monday against the San Francisco Giants’ Ryan Vogelsong.
Watch the towering two-run homer below:
It’s great to see Puig in action again. He’s one of the most exciting and talented players in MLB today.
He batted .296 with 18 home runs, 69 RBI and 92 runs last season. However, Puig’s 2014 campaign ended on a sour note, as he struggled mightily in the 2014 NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals and was ultimately benched in Game 4, which St. Louis won to clinch a series victory.
The Dodgers certainly need Puig to rebound from his postseason struggles this upcoming season if they are to compete for a World Series title, considering the team lost valuable hitters such as Matt Kemp and Hanley Ramirez this past offseason. Los Angeles will certainly be relying on Puig to be one of its best bats this year.
Puig came to the Dodgers in 2013 and quickly became one of baseball’s biggest stars. He batted .319 with 19 home runs, 42 RBI and 66 runs during his rookie season.
