The Oakland Raiders should look into signing these five free agents.
With a ton of cap space, the Oakland Raiders are expected to be big players in free agency this year. As of now, the Raiders have just under $60 million in free agency. Thatās enough for multiple playmakers to make this team better as they look to make the transition from a team with potential to a playoff contender.
Although they finished with a 3-13 record this past season and they didnāt win a game until Week 12, there were a ton of bright spots from this Raiders team.
Under the new regime led by Jack Del Rio, the Raiders will have a coach who really transformed the Jacksonville Jaguars from a laughingstockĀ to a respectable team in AFC. Granted he was fired in the middle of the 2011 season, it should be said that Del Rio never worked with that much talent during his tenure in Jacksonville.
By coming to Oakland, Del Rio will get the opportunity work with a young team that has a ton of building blocks.
After years of inconsistencyĀ with their draft choices, general manager Reggie McKenzie had an excellent draft class last year. In that draft, the Raiders pulled in Khalil Mack, Derek Carr, Gabe Jackson, Keith McGill and T.J. Carrie.
If they can continue to draft well, this team is going to be good real soon.
However, if the Raiders want to quicken that transition, one thing they can do, given their huge treasure chest of cap space, is spend money at will in free agency. With a ton of players available who are also looking for huge paydays, not many teams are going to be able to outbid the Raiders and thatās why they could have a huge offseason in the next few months. That being said, letās take a look at five free agents who the Raiders need to sign.
