WR Torrey Smith
Obviously, the top choice would’ve been Randall Cobb, but he reportedly re-signed with the Green Bay Packers. That being said, the Raiders have to look into the other options at the wide receiver position in free agency. James Jones wasn’t bad in 2014 and Andre Holmes is a nice commodity to this offense, but the Raiders need to bring in an impact-player and one guy who would come in immediately and become Derek Carr’s best weapon is Torrey Smith.
After saying his goodbyes to the Baltimore Ravens, Smith is available on the market and he will be looking for a big contract, as he is in his prime at 26 years old.
Granted, Smith is not a dependable No. 1 receiver as we have seen in Baltimore, but he can be one of the best No. 2 receivers in the league. Smith is a burner. Opposing teams have to make adjustments for him so he doesn’t beat them by taking the top off the defense. Smith has already won a Super Bowl.
Smith knows what the playoff grind is like and if the Raiders want their offense to grow, bringing in a veteran who still has plenty of years left would be smart.
