Curtis Lofton is on the Oakland Raiders’ radar.
Given their salary cap space, it’s really no surprise that the Oakland Raiders have been linked to a ton of quality free agents. It’s only a matter of time until the Raiders are good. They keep building through the draft by drafting smartly and they also have done a good job with their contracts as well. Khalil Mack and Sio Moore have a ton of talent, but to make that linebacking corps to go to the next level, they need a veteran who can gel everything together. That guy could very well be Curtis Lofton, who is visiting Oakland.
According to ESPN’s Adam Caplan, the ex-Saint is visiting with the Raiders.

Over the course of his seven-year career, Lofton has played with the Saints and the Atlanta Falcons. He has also made his living by being near the ball at the end of each play. In seven seasons, Lofton hasn’t had a season with less than 94 total tackles. He hasn’t had less than 118 total tackles in five years. At 28 years old, Lofton has already made 885 total tackles, as well as 11 forced fumbles and three interceptions. The Raiders need help against the run, and by adding a player like Lofton, they will have that guy who can immediately help out their run defense.
It truly is amazing how Lofton really hasn’t received much attention in the free agency process or even much recognition throughout his career. This guy is one of the best linebackers in the NFL and he has shown that he can play in either a 3-4 defensive scheme or a 4-3 defensive scheme. If the Raiders can reel in Lofton, they will have one of the best linebacker groups in all of football. If Oakland can sign Lofton, it would immediately help their football team.
